Kinetic Sculpture. Moving the flesh-like orb controller by sound/speech. Silicone orb, microphone, steel, motor and Arduino.
Speak to Me explores society’s relationship with technology, envisioning a future where technology becomes intertwined with “human” senses, in this case, sound. This system reacts to human voices. When triggered, a flesh-like orb moves in reaction to the being spoken to. This creates a rudimentary conversation, man and machine communicating without a shared language in a call-and-response
style. This experiment aims to inspire speculation of a future where technology is intertwined with the human experience. In this future, what would these
human and technological interactions look, sound, move, taste and feel like?
